Life-long Skokie resident Trustee Ralph Klein was elected to the Village Board in 2013. For 12 years before his election to the board, Klein served as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. He also served as a member of the Skokie Fine Arts Commission and the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park Board. After graduating from Niles East High School and attending college, Klein joined his family’s printing business. He and his wife Lillian have been married for 40 years and raised their children in Skokie. Klein’s long history of volunteering in the community also includes serving as founding president of Open Hearts for Handicapped Children and volunteering for both the Niles Township Food Pantry and Just Harvest Community Kitchen. He is a past president of the Skokie Valley Rotary Club. In addition, he has donated his time to assisting several local school district foundations and coaching AYSO soccer and Skokie Youth Basketball.
Trustee Klein loves everything about Skokie, having been raised and attending school here, and then choosing to remain in Skokie as an adult and raise his children in the community.
