The Village of Skokie is inviting all community members interested in serving on the new Housing Sub-Committee of the Plan Commission to apply by June 23.
On May 15, as part of its commitment to affordable housing, the Skokie Village Board approved a resolution establishing the Housing Sub-Committee to study, review, discuss and provide recommendations to revise the Housing Chapter of the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan guides development in Skokie, and is amended on an ongoing basis based on community needs and issues.
The Housing Sub-Committee will include members of a cross-section of Village commissions and four resident members from each geographic quadrant of the Village, divided by the intersection of Main Street and Kostner Avenue.
How to Apply
Residents interested in serving on the Housing Sub-Committee are invited to complete the application by Friday, June 23.
Completed applications should be mailed or delivered in-person to Village of Skokie, Office of the Mayor, 5127 Oakton St., Skokie, IL 60077, or emailed to vicky.varga@skokie.org. Applicants are encouraged to note their lived or professional experience and to attach a resume with their application.
All sub-committee members will be selected by the Mayor and affirmed by the Village Board of Trustees.
