The Village of Skokie Human Relations Commission encourages Skokie residents to take part in the "Unite Against Racism" campaign (previously Stand Against Racism) by raising awareness about the impacts of racism, building community, and acting within your spheres of influence. The YWCA’s Equity Institute’s Unite Against Racism provides the opportunity for communities like Skokie to unite their voices to educate, advocate, and promote racial justice.
Skokie is partnering with the YWCA to hold a Unite Against Racism event on April 25 at 10:30 a.m. outside Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton St. We will gather and share a pledge to do the work necessary to become an anti-racist community. All attendees are then invited to come inside Village Hall and be part of a discussion with others. The discussions will be led by YWCA facilitators and will be 30-45 minutes. Register for this event.
