No Mow May, a popular movement across the United Kingdom, has found its way to our shores. While the intent to provide pollinators with food as they come out of hibernation is a good one, climate differences between here and the UK mean that the timing of when bees leave the hive does not line up. So, instead of taking the whole month of May off from mowing, the Village of Skokie Beautification and Improvement Commission recommends instead that you “Delay Until Mother’s Day”
