MC Squared Energy Services is updating their eligibility list and accounts to include new move-ins and other customers that may now qualify for the electrical aggregation program approved by the Village Board in August of 2021. Letters to households to be enrolled in the program will be mailed beginning March 8.
The primary benefit of residents enrolling in this program is that the Village receives a civic grant to support sustainability initiatives. Thanks to this program to date, the Village has converted over 1,000 streetlights to LED bulbs, saving all taxpayers on energy costs and reducing the Village’s carbon footprint. The Village also used some of the funding to develop its new Environmental Sustainability Plan. While savings to individual account holders is not the intended purpose, the electricity rate of residents in the program will always match the current ComEd rate, it will never be higher or lower than the ComEd rate.
If you received an Opt-Out Letter and are interested in enrolling, no action is necessary. You will automatically be enrolled in the program unless you choose to opt-out.
Please be aware that MC Squared will NOT solicit door to door for this program and they will not be calling you unless you initiate a call. Do not give your ComEd bill to anyone at your door.
