Alternate-side Parking Not in Effect
Despite predictions for six to eight inches of snow, the Village only received approximately 1.75 inches of snow in yesterday and last evening's storm. As a result, alternate-side parking is NOT in effect. See information about alternate-side parking.
Refuse and Recycling Will Be Collected on December 23
Skokie Public Works crews will collect garbage and recycling routes as regularly scheduled on Friday, December 23. See information on the holiday refuse and recycling schedule in effect during the weeks of December 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023.
Please Keep Sidewalks Clear of Snow and Ice
The amount of snowfall from the current storm does not reach the four-inch threshold for Village crews to plow sidewalks. Please be reminded that residents and property owners are obligated to prevent hazardous conditions by keeping public sidewalks and walkways clear of snow and ice. All Skokie businesses are required to remove snow from public sidewalks adjacent to their properties.
Need Help Shoveling?
The Village's TeenLink program connects Skokie residents needing assistance with Skokie teens who are available for hire to shovel snow, rake leaves and perform other outdoor chores. Residents are responsible for contacting the teen and arranging a rate of pay. Email info@skokie.org or call 847/933-8208 for the current TeenLink list.
