On November 4, 2022 Everest Excavating, Inc. began storm sewer work for the new Homewood Suites development at 4930 Oakton Street. To ensure the safety of both motorists and construction workers, the project requires closing the north, westbound lane on Oakton Street from LaCrosse to Lamon Avenues, with the south, westbound lane remaining open. While the lane closure was initially planned only for November 4, the lane closure is now expected to continue through Wednesday, November 9, weather permitting. All lanes will be open over the weekend of November 5 and 6, with the closure resuming on Monday, November 7.
