On Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 10 a.m., the Village will launch a test of the Smart911 system that is used to communicate with Skokie residents and businesses during emergencies. While telephone landlines are automatically in the system, residents are strongly encouraged to register their mobile device and email address to also receive text and email alerts.

Important information: If you have already registered, know that Smart911 sends subscribers an email and text message every six months to make sure that their information is current. These emails/texts are already being received by residents who subscribed when the system launched in winter 2022. If subscribers don't verify their information, they will still receive alerts but if they call 9-1-1, their information will no longer appear to the dispatcher.
