Yard Waste Collection Resumes on April 6, 2022
Yard waste collection season spans from the beginning of April through November, with collections always conducted on Wednesday. Yard waste should be set out by 7 a.m. in the same place that refuse and recycling are collected. No advance scheduling is required.
Materials not collected:
- Grass clippings (mulch with mower or dispose of privately)
- Yard waste in plastic bags
- Loose branches
- Dirt and large quantities of sod
- Stumps, logs, and branches three inches diameter or greater
Yard waste must be placed in 32-gallon paper yard waste bags can be purchased from local grocery, hardware or home improvement stores. Do not place yard waste in refuse or recycling carts. Branches must be smaller than three inches in diameter; bundles must be tied and less than five feet long. Small amounts of sod are accepted, but allow the sod to dry out, remove the excess topsoil and place in 32-gallon yard waste bags. The weight limit on yard waste bags and bundles is 40 pounds each.
Yard waste must be placed out no later than 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Materials placed out after collection occurs will not be picked up until the following Wednesday. Note that on holiday weeks, including Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day, yard waste collection is moved to the Saturday following the holiday.
