With rising temperatures and humidity, it is important to protect yourself and others from the impacts of heat. Make sure to drink lots of water and wear sunscreen. Heat waves have the potential to cover a large area, exposing a high number of people to a hazardous combination of heat and humidity, which can be very taxing on the body.
For residents without access to air conditioning, a
cooling center is available at the Skokie Park District
Weber Leisure Center, 300 Weber Park Place. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
