The Village's annual Arbor Day tree planting ceremony will be held on Friday, April 30 at 10 a.m. at the Tot Learning Center (TLC), 3701 Howard Street. Children from the TLC will join the event, as will representatives from next-door neighbor The Talking Farm, whose mission is to "provide education, example, and hands-on experience to members of the community to expand the awareness, importance, and availability of food grown sustainably."
The public is invited to attend but masks and social distancing will be required.
This year, the Village of Skokie also is taking part in the Plant Trees for Communities initiative that has a goal of planting at least 340 new trees in the Chicago region this year to build a healthier urban forest.
