This section of Crawford Avenue is located within the Village of Skokie and is under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways, and the project is a joint effort between the two agencies. The Phase I Engineering Study is the first step in the overall project development process to examine transportation needs and solutions. The objective of the Phase I Study is to evaluate various alternatives to meet the needs of all roadway users and to identify a preferred solution. The Phase I Study is anticipated to be completed in early 2022, after which the project moves into the 18- to 24-month Phase II for contract plan preparation and land acquisition (if any). Phase III is construction and is the final phase of the project development process.
