The good news - the number of Skokie residents contracting COVID-19 has been steadily decreasing over the past two months, hospitalizations are down and the Skokie area is now in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan to safely reopen the State’s economy and Skokie stores and restaurants are reopening.
The bad news - if we let down our guards with protecting everyone’s health by wearing cloth face coverings while in public settings, maintaining physical distancing of at least six feet from those who are not members of our household, practicing good hand hygiene and more, there could quickly be an increase in cases - as is occurring in other states across the country - and our positive progress could be lost.
