Please join the 2020 Clean, Green Skokie! effort. The program focuses on pride in the community and collaborative efforts to give public areas of Skokie a good old fashioned neighborhood litter clean up from April 1 through May 3, 2020. One lucky group or individual who helps clean up Skokie will have a tree planted in their honor at the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park! In 2019, this honor went to the volunteer crew from Turning Point in Skokie.
Call the Village at 847-933-8427 or email info@skokie.org to register for Clean, Green Skokie! Here’s what we’ll need to know:
- What area you plan to clean
- Who will do the cleaning
- How many people you expect to clean
- The number of children and adult participants
- When the cleaning will take place
Beginning in late March, groups and individuals who are registered to clean can pick up litter clean up kits at Skokie Public Works, 9050 Gross Point Road, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. After-hours pick up arrangements can be made, too.
Clean, Green Skokie! participants are automatically entered for a chance to have a tree planted in their honor at the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park. Want to increase your chances? Take a photo of your group cleaning, or posed by the filled bags of litter and recyclables, and post #cleangreenskokie on Instagram or Facebook. Any registered group that does this will receive five extra prize drawing entries!
