Did you know that food scraps and other organics make up 30% of the waste stream? Choosing to compost this material instead of sending it to a landfill is an easy step to help the environment.
Skokie is proud to partner with Collective Resource, a compost and food scrap pickup service that collects all food waste and compostable products from homes, businesses, and institutions and takes them to a commercial composting site. The food scraps are turned into a nutrient-rich soil amendment instead of creating greenhouse gasses from sitting in a landfill. A clean, empty bucket is swapped with the bucket left for pickup. Rates start as low as $20.50 per month for biweekly pickup.
