[ARCHIVED] Skokie Boulevard Closure on Weekend of December 13

Skokie Boulevard Bridge

Beginning December 13, 2019, Commonwealth Edison crews will resume conducting extensive work removing several old, unused bridges on Skokie Boulevard between Oakton and Howard Streets. As a result, that section of Skokie Boulevard will be closed for much the weekend, from approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, December 13 to no later than 5 a.m. on Monday, December 16. If construction activity progresses as planned, Skokie Boulevard could be re-opened as early the evening of Saturday, December 14. A detour route is being established to direct traffic to Touhy Avenue, Crawford Avenue and Oakton Street as necessary. The adjacent Skokie Valley Trail also will be open during the weekend. Comments or questions on the project should be directed to Calandra Davis, ComEd External Affairs, 773/963-4579.
