On the weekends beginning December 6 and December 13, 2019, Commonwealth Edison crews will conduct extensive work removing several old, unused bridges on Skokie Boulevard between Oakton and Howard Streets. As a result, that section of Skokie Boulevard will be closed for much of both weekends, from approximately 5 p.m. on Fridays, December 6 and 13 to no later than 5 a.m. on Mondays, December 9 and 16. A detour route is being established to direct traffic to Touhy Avenue, Crawford Avenue and Oakton Street as necessary.
Update: The adjacent Skokie Valley Trail also will be open during these weekends.
