The ordinance requires that every residential rental unit be registered prior to being offered for rent. Only rental units in condominium buildings with more than four units and owner occupied units in rental buildings are exempt from the registration requirements.
Registration
Rental property owners will be mailed a registration form and instructions in April. All registration forms must be returned to the Village by May 1 with the required registration fee of $25 per unit. Registration forms and information pamphlet on registration and frequently asked questions may also be downloaded. Fee waivers are available to qualified unit owners.
Tenant Move-Outs
Large collections require a dumpster and are the resident’s responsibility. Dumpsters must be obtained through the Village’s commercial hauler, LRS at 1-844-NEED-LRS. Small move outs (a few bulk items) can be scheduled by calling Public Works at 847/966-8427. Residents are allowed to bring construction debris and other landfill waste to the SWANCC transfer station for a reasonable fee.
