Family Services

The Human Services Division provides short-term counseling and case management around issues of finances, housing, employment, aging and interpersonal relations.

The Human Services Division is the local Salvation Army Extension Representative and may provide limited emergency assistance as available. We provide advocacy and linkage with other community services as appropriate. Referrals are available to Skokie community providers as needed. Please contact us for further information on assistance in any of these areas.

Assist-A-Family Program

For over 15 years the Skokie Human Services Division has coordinated the Assist-A-Family Program designed to assist Skokie families with limited financial resources that might not otherwise be able to celebrate winter holidays.  Families receive gift certificates for area businesses which they use to purchase holiday food and to buy items specific to each family member's needs and wants.

This program provides all Skokie residents with the opportunity to join together in building a stronger more caring community.

Applications for the 2022 holiday season closed on Monday, November 21st, 2022. For questions on 2022 holiday season, please call 847-933-8208.
