Length of time working for the Village of Skokie?
What do you like most about your job?
Working for the Village of Skokie allows me to have a wide variety of experiences, and also to meet and learn from many different people.
Why did you choose a career in the public sector?
I have always been passionate about helping people and being involved in communities. I have been through many struggles and I want to be a person who gives a hand to others when needed. At the end of the day, we are here for each other.
How does your background help you carry out your job duties and serve the community?
I am a proud born and raised Mongolian. Both of my parents are highly educated and I am extremely proud of them. They are my role models. I am a former Skokie resident and Niles West graduate, and am now a graduate student at the Northern Illinois University pursuing a master’s degree in Public Administration. Northern is helping me to learn the theories, while Village of Skokie is providing me a chance to practice them in reality.
What do you like most about Skokie?
Skokie has the best workforce who puts the community first and really strives to provide the best possible services to its residents. I believe Village’s strong leadership is key to reaching organizational goals.
What has been your most interesting experience while on the job?
Every single experience at Skokie has been very interesting and valuable. I am currently working on the Fire Department Annual Report which has been very educational. I also recently became a liaison to the Fine Arts Commission which I am very excited about, since I have a huge love for art.
What is your proudest accomplishment in your work for the Village of Skokie?
I worked on COVID-19 vaccine clinic-related projects and I am proud of our Health Department heroes for saving lives while putting themselves at risk.
What are your favorite Skokie restaurants?
From the few ones I tried, I liked dining at the Makisu Sushi Restaurant.
