Village Manager's Office
The Village Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village. He is appointed by the Mayor and the Board of Trustees and serves on a full-time basis. The Manager's responsibilities include oversight of the day to day operations of the Village, enforcement of Village Ordinances, recommendation of policy alternatives to the Board, and preparation of an annual budget for the Board's review.
Village Manager Albert J. Rigoni
The current Village Manager, Albert J. Rigoni, was promoted from Assistant Village Manager to Village Manager on January 1, 1987. He began his tenure with the Village in June of 1976 when he was hired as the Administrative Assistant in the Village Manager's Office. Mr. Rigoni has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from Roosevelt University. As an active member of many Village organizations, he is an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce and is a past President and current member of the Skokie Valley Rotary Club. In his over 30-year tenure with the Village, he has been involved in a myriad of projects ranging from the initiation of the Village's Stormwater Runoff Control Project to the redevelopment of Downtown Skokie and the expansion of Westfield Shopping Town at Old Orchard.

| Personnel Division |
The Personnel Division of the Village Manager's Office oversees the more than 500 Village of Skokie employees. Specific functions of this Division include recruitment of new employees, benefit administration, development and administration of personnel policies and procedures and monitoring compliance with state and federal personnel requirements. Additionally, the Personnel Division provides assistance to the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners in recruitment, promotion and hearings involving uniformed Fire and Police personnel. | Human Services Division | The Human Services Division offers a number of youth, family and senior programs and services. The Division is responsible for attending to the human service needs of the community. The Fair Housing Act Compliance and Neighborhood Mediation Program are also the responsibility of this Division. Please browse the Human Services section of this Home Page for more information on this Division. The Division acts as staff liaison to the Human Relations Commission. |
| Risk Management Division | The Risk Manager concentrates on safety and insurance issues. Research is conducted on proper risk management procedures and insurance compliance matters. Risk Management Division staff work with Village departments on safety issues and practices. A solid risk management plan like the Village of Skokie's limits exposure to liability. |
| Multi-Media Division | The Multi-Media Division administers the Cable Television Franchise Agreements and dedicated cable access channels. This division is also responsible for producing programming for the Village's SkokieVision TV stations, overseeing the acquisition of communication and audio-visual equipment and maintaining the Village's 675-INFO line. The Division also serves on the Northwest Municipal Conference Utility Regulation Committee and serves as the staff liaison to the Skokie Telecommunications and Technology Commission (STAT). |

| Public Information | The Public Information Officer provides the Village of Skokie's internal and external communications outreach programs. Publication of NewSkokie, the Village newsletter, is a function of the Public Information Division. Additionally, all Freedom of Information, Special Event Applications and Commercial Film Application requests are handled through this Division. Press releases and media contacts are coordinated through this Division. The Division also staffs the Fine Arts Commission and manages the Village's website and the Village's Advisory radio station, 1660 AM Skokie. |
| Management of Information Systems | Provides day-to-day oversight of the Village Computer Information System, including all operations, reporting, performance analysis and planning, security administration, technical support and accessibility, and implements the Village's long-range technology plan. |
